Collaborative practice
Collaborative practice is a client-centred approach which is becoming increasingly popular in Australia because it's a more effective and more amicable way of reaching a settlement after separation.
There is a collaboratively trained lawyer for each person working towards agreement. That's because although collaborative practice takes place away from the court, the divorce settlement is still a legal agreement.
The difference is that you and your partner are the ones who will ultimately make the final decisions, rather than the Court system.
